About Neale

Neale S. GodfreyNeale S. Godfrey is an acknowledged expert on family and children’s finances who has been in the financial field for more than 30 years.  Early in her career, Neale became one of the first female executives at The Chase Manhattan Bank.  Later, she became the president of The First Women’s Bank and founder of The First Children’s Bank.

In 1989, Neale formed her own company, Children’s Financial Network, Inc. whose mission is to educate children and their parents about money.  Neale is the author of 17 books that deal with money, life skills, and value issues.

Her groundbreaking book, Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees: a Parent’s Guide to Raising Financially Responsible Children, hit #1 on The New York Times Best Sellers list.  Neale was also a syndicated columnist for the Associated Press and has published countless articles in newspapers and magazines throughout the country.

Her latest educational program, LIFE, Inc.: The Ultimate Career Guide for Young People, consists of the Career Guide Book, Teacher’s Guide, Student Journal, and website.  This program, sponsored by the Deloitte Foundation, is reaching hundreds of thousands of students through such organizations as the United States Army, The National Guard, the National Urban League, YWCA, the Bureau of Indian Education, FCCLA, DECA, ASPIRA, etc.

Neale has often appeared as a financial expert on programs such as: The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America, Today, CNBC, and CNN.  She is also Nickelodeon’s financial expert on NickJr.com.

Neale has been honored with awards such as: Woman of the Year, Banker of the Year, Child Advocate of the Year, Best 50 Women in Business in New Jersey, and the Femme Award from UNIFEM.  Neale was also named National Winner of the Ascendency Award for Business Women.

Neale lives in Chester, New Jersey and is the proud mother of two children . . . and an even prouder grandma!
